Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Downham Market

Arbuckles Restaurant & Bar

Stone Cross, A10, Bexwell, Downham Market PE38 0AD, UK – 01366 388881

Great restaurant just off the A10 at Downham Market, They serve a large selection of meals from chilli's to steaks, ribs and chicken to crab cakes and almost everything in between. As you can tell by the name and the food on the menu its predominantly an American themed restaurant which is a great change from the (sit down) Indian restaurants and takeaway Chinese shops in town. It's a very popular restaurant so reservations are a good way of making sure you have a table but you can also just turn up and take pot luck. The food is always good and the staff are usually helpful but can be a little bit busy when the restaurant is full. All in all Arbuckles is well worth a visit.

Food was decent but really nothing special. Felt it was very Over priced for what it was. The mains are decent servings but the desserts are on the small side. The one thing worth trying is the cactus, just because you can't get it elsewhere and it's actually really good! Though it might seem obvious for a steak house it is lacking options for those who don't want meat or are looking for a healthy option. Definitely a calorie and wallet splurge to be expected.

Dang's Thai Restaurant

51-53 Bridge St, Downham Market PE38 9DW, UK – 01366 388147

Amazing food, friendly staff and owner. Clean, welcoming and nice place. Fair price, well worth all my visits!

Great taste, great service. Authentic and very friendly

Downham Tandoori

52-56 High St, Downham Market PE38 9HH, UK – 01366 386110

I've been coming to the Downham Tandoori for a few years now and I have never had a bad experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and always full of smiles, while the food is authentic, delicious and decently priced. The bar is fully stocked with beer and spirits, and the recently updated wine list has something for everyone. The restaurant was renovated in the autumn of 2017, so the interior is newly decorated with a clean and relaxing feel. They also extended into the shop next door which means getting a table is easier than before, although I still recommend booking in advance on a Friday or Saturday.

Great staff, amazing food. The best Tandoori. You won't be disappointed.
